Chief Risk Officer

Michael Payton is Chief Risk Officer supporting our entire vertically-integrated platform including acquisitions, renovations, construction, logistics and community operations on a national basis. Michael has over 30 years’ experience in risk management, primarily in the real estate and construction industry.

Prior to joining LURIN, Michael managed complex risk and insurance programs for premier multifamily development and management firms. His previous experience also includes working at a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust and a multi-campus higher education system; all within the risk management realm.

Michael is a graduate of Texas A&M University and earned designations as a Certified Insurance Counselor, an Associate in Risk Management, and a Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist. In addition, Michael has also earned his license as an insurance adjuster, Risk Manager, as well as a property, casualty, life and health insurance agent.
